Hi, I’m Kerry Harding, the woman behind KH Designs.
I started KH Designs in 2017 when I was working full time and in search of a work life balance approach for my lifestyle. I knew there had to be more to life and once I found my passion for resin art, I knew it was for me! Little did I know that within a few years it would be my full time passion. Now I get to create and help others in their own creative pursuits.
Throughout my life, I’ve always enjoyed being creative. This led me to becoming a hairdresser and also completing a fashion design course. These experiences gave me extensive knowledge of colours which comes in handy when creating my resin art pieces and guiding you to create yours.
In September 2019, I opened my little shop at Vend Marketplace. It’s one of the originals and I’m still there today! I love being located in the Vend Marketplace! It’s a 7 day indoor marketplace with 100+ small businesses just like mine.
Since opening in the Vend Marketplace KH Designs has continued to grow. Workshops teaching how to create resin pieces were introduced and they have been a hit ever since. The demand for workshops was ever increasing after our brush with fame in August 2020. We were featured on the Today Show as they were showcasing and supporting small businesses. This support came at a crucial time for KH Designs as it connected us with the wider community. I will forever be grateful for that 5 minutes of fame during a really tough time in the Pandemic.
The growth and interest in resin art workshops led me to open my new studio space KH Designs Studio & Gift Shop in 2021. It allowed me to include more workshops as well as showcasing the wonderful art created here in our local area. We now offer a variety of different classes including Paper Crafting, Bubble & Brush and Textile workshops. The gift shop is full of beautiful gifts from local artists which include candles, soaps, earrings, wine glasses and more. We also stock Just resin and supplies so you can continue creating with everything you need.
We’re all about creating a welcoming, creative space in the studio for people of different skill levels to come together and learn something new. My favourite part of this has been watching beginners take their first steps into our workshops. It fills me with joy knowing that they’ll grow not only as artists themselves but also within our diverse community here at KH Designs.
There is an artist in all of us. Like any new skill it takes time to learn and develop your talents.
Come join our growing community of artists during a workshop or shop our resin homewares in Brendale, Brisbane. In a world where you can shop anywhere, shop local.
I’d love to see you,
Kerry
